Keep the day clean
Daily bookkeeping does not need to be complicated. The goal is to prevent loose financial activity from becoming a reconstruction project later.
Review new payments
Record important expenses
Check invoices that changed status
Capture missing descriptions or documentation
Leave notes on anything that needs later review
What can wait
Reconciliation, close work, and deeper accounting review are usually better handled on a weekly or monthly rhythm. Daily work should keep the record current enough that those later steps are easier.
